Jalandhar (Aman Bagga): Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is a premier institution of North India, established in 1927 and for the past 93 years providing multi-faculty, value based, job oriented higher education to Women. Presently, we have more than 5000 students on our rolls. The college has been re-accredited A grade with 3.83 (highest score in the country amongst women colleges). UGC has recognized it as College of Excellence (First College of North India). The college has also been awarded Flagship College Award by Confederation of Education Excellence and Excellent College Imparting Public Service Programmes in Punjab by AICTE, MHRD, New Delhi. The college has recently granted the status of Kaushal Kendra by UGC. And most recently it has been conferred with an award ‘FICCI Higher Education Excellence Award’ by FICCI, New Delhi.
Placement Cell of the college established in year 2000. It is providing 100 placement to all the willing final year students under the able guidance of Principal,Dr.(Mrs) Ajay Sareen. Under her guidance cell keeps on organizing placement activities through out the year for the final year students and the passed out students. Also cell helps the students who are willing to do the part time jobs along with the studies under earn while you learn programme being motivated by the madam Principal. Placement cell along with career counseling cell is a integral part of institution which provides students best placements in the industry so as to reach their career goals. Placement Cell of the College successfully organized various campus placement activities during the current session through which awareness activities being arranged about various options in the industry/institutions to the students of all streams so that they can prepare themselves for the best career options. Al these activites are arranged before the companies start visiting the campus for campus placements.
The Placement cell provides 100% placement assistance to the students of all the classes with special focus on students who actually wish to go for jobs in various multinational/national companies. The various Companies in which our students participated and got selected for recruitment drive this year are TCS, SAP LABS, CONCENTRIX, WIPRO Technologies, INFOSYS,SAPPHIRE IT SOLUTIONS, People scout, news number, fotografik, creative ideas, ICICI Bank, CAPGEMINI, APEX FINALCIAL SOLUTIONS, COMPACT DIAGNOSTICS, CHAK DE TV, Electrovese Pvt. Sol. Ltd, JARO Education, EDU FINN, Silaris Information Pvt. Ltd., SP Garments, NEVA, Sangam Weavers Pvt. Ltd. and Other reputed Institutions of Punjab. From these companies few offered company sponsored post graduation degrees like M.TECH, M.S and MCA from BITS, PILANI and other reputed universities of India. Post Graduate Students of all streams got excellent opportunities in various schools, colleges and Academic Institutions as one of the most preferable candidates for various academic positions. Many of the students also got positions in various IELETS centers. Students also participated in the job fair organized by District employment generation under GHAR GHAR Rozgar programme of Punjab government and got placements.
Placement cell also organized pre-placement activities for the companies like TCS, WIPRO, SAP Labs during this session along with interaction of the students with already placed students so that they must be motivated to opt for good career. Also communication skill improvement sessions were arranged for students of all streams so to equip students with industry standards. It is a regular feature of the institution. Placement Cell has also coordinated the industrial visits for students of various streams to the related companies/organisations so to show actual industry environment to the students. Also special sessions were being arranged for updating the students with the latest technologies required in the industry at present and in future.
